Unlocking New Grounds: How Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster Challenges Hardware Limitations

Nightdive Studios have yet to announce a release date for the anticipated Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, which was unveiled last month. However, they assure on X that its release will happen "soon". They have posted the PC requirements for the game on Steam, confirming that, as one might anticipate, a cutting-edge computer is not required to play the game - it is, after all, a remaster of a classic 1995 game.

The minimum specs include:
A 64-bit OS and processor (preferably Windows 7), an Intel or AMD Dual-Core at 2.0 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, a graphics card compatible with either DirectX 11 or Vulkan 1.1, 420 MB of available storage, and a 100% DirectX compatible sound card or onboard sound.

Recommended specs, meanwhile, maintain the requirement for a 64-bit OS and processor, but suggest Windows 10. The processor should ideally be an Intel Core i5-2300 2.8 GHz/AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 GHz or equivalent. They recommend 4 GB of RAM and the same graphics card requirements as the minimum specs. A sound card which is 100% DirectX compatible or onboard sound is also advised.
